Starlight is partnering with South Bay Credit Union (SBCU) to expand financial support programs for the Los Angeles South Bay community.

34% of California households—representing 3.7 million Californians and families — do not earn enough to cover basic living expenses. This partnership enables SBCU to expand their community presence and ensure all members have access to vital financial resources.

Supporting financial resilience 

South Bay Credit Union’s community is unique, hugging both the Los Angeles coastline (where average household income is $150,000+) to inland Los Angeles (where average household income is less than half of that.)

As South Bay plans to expand their presence in the community, they recognize that a significant portion of their community faces financial hurdles, exacerbated by rising living costs and unexpected expenses. These are also individuals who are often underserved by larger financial institutions, but that need accessible and effective financial solutions. By working with Starlight, South Bay Credit Union better positions themselves for growth by supporting members from a broader range of economic backgrounds.

• Prospective and existing members of South Bay Credit Union will gain access to Starlight's white-labeled technology platform, designed to help households access over $140 billion in unclaimed local, state, and federal benefits.
